The Detroit/Wayne County Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing Community Campaign has been built to increase everyone’s knowledge about the importance of talking and interacting with young children beginning at birth. Reinforcing messaging, skill building, esteeming adults for what they are already doing and working together to help each of us do more are the critical elements of this Campaign.

Talking is Teaching: Babies Need Words! Talk, Read, Sing Community Campaign – Detroit and Wayne County (Tweety Bird Sheet). This one page piece gives a basic overview about the importance of the Campaign.
Learning is Everywhere Cards. This six 5” x 7” card set represents our Five Minute Messages.
Baby Bookmark, Talking is Teaching! Babies Need Books! This bookmark helps adults understand why babies need books and how to share books with babies.
Six Very Important Reasons to Read to Your Child Bookmark. This bookmark gives enriching ideas on how to read to children preschool age and up.
Talking is Teaching: Talk, Read, Sing. Let’s Talk, Read and Sing About Letters is the Facilitator Guide for the Module Three Parent Meeting. NOTE: The last page of the guide is a reprintable parent handout for the meeting.
Let’s Talk Flyers. A variety of 26 different 8.5” x 11” prompts for Talking is Teaching printed in English on one side and in Spanish on the other.
Bubble Posters. Business card size One Minute Community Messages enlarged to poster size (18” x 24”). Currently available in English only.
Babies Need Words Posters. These (12” x 18”) posters from the Association for Library Services to Children are part of their “Babies Need Words Every Day, Talk, Read, Sing Play” public awareness campaign, and included in our Talking is Teaching Community Campaign. They are printed in English on one side and Spanish on the other.
Book Talks. Let’s Talk About (10 different books). An information sheet with guides on how to share each specific book with infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
