Low income mothers with infants up to 3 months old, living in Detroit With government I.D. Must be referred by a social worker, nurse, doctor, midwife, counselor, or volunteer from cooperating prenatal care facility.
Visits to the Stork's Nest of Detroit, Layette Pickups and Educational Programming is by referral and/or appointment only. Contact us, for more details. Pregnant women are referred to a local Stork’s Nest through clinics, neighborhood health centers, or other health care facilities that provide prenatal care services. Stork’s Nest provides baby clothing, nursery items and community resources to low income women who attend educational sessions on pregnancy, birth and infant care. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. provides the ongoing leadership and volunteers to select sites and operate each Stork’s Nest.
