We offer a wide range of services: pastoral counseling, emergency assistance, transitional housing programs, sports and recreation activities, music programs and many other weekly and special events. The Salvation Army community center provides recreation, group fellowship and programs and a summer day camp.
We are a part of the evangelical Christian church: all worship and weekday activities are open to the public.
Provides used clothing to needy individuals and families in emergency situations. Agency depends upon donations, so availability varies.
Emergency Food Pantry
Provides emergency food packages to Individuals and families who meet income and resource guidelines. Please call center to make an appointment Tuesday-Thursday 9:00am-3:00pm. Each family may receive emergency food once every 30 days.
Extreme Heat Cooling Centers
The Salvation Army has cooling centers at all of their locations in metro Detroit. Residents can find a safe and cool haven from the heat with water and light refreshments available at the sites.
Spiritual ministry provides personal or family counseling and undertakes the spiritual, moral, and physical rehabilitation of all persons in need.
Winter Coats for Metro Detroit Children
This Salvation Army collects donations of gently used coats as well as money to purchase coats for distribution to school children(preschool-12th grade) from low-income families. Eligible families receive a vouchers to be taken to a designated Salvation Army Thrift Store, where they select coats for their children.
Christmas assistance varies. Salvation Army may provide vouchers redeemable for food at local supermarkets, may provide food baskets, food vouchers, and/or operate Christmas toy shops from which parents can select toys for their children. This location may sponsor Adopt-A-Family programs whereby donor individuals, families, organizations, and companies are matched with a family in need.
