Life Choices professionals serve persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities, with the goal of helping individuals learn, express themselves and join in the work, play and worship of society. In support of this goal, Life Choices provides comprehensive supportive services, as well as a variety of clinical services, including psychological testing, behavior modification planning, individual and family therapy, and psychiatric care.
Services for children include:
Intervention for children, birth to age 3, with developmental delays
Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) provided for Medicaid eligible children under 21 years of age who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and who meet medical necessity criteria
School support services for NSO Life Choices consumers who attend the five center-based schools in Detroit
Summer program in partnership with the Players Guild of Dearborn consisting of a week-long theater camp and performance Individual and family therapy, as well as psychiatric care
Provides assistance for individuals who are in favor of or want to oppose the appointment of a guardian to care for and/or manage the affairs of a child or adolescent during minority (generally younger than the age of 18). Guardianships may also apply to adults that have been found by the courts to be incapable of managing the individuals own affairs.
Parenting Skills Classes:
Teaches skills that enable parents to deal constructively and consistently with a child having developmental disabilities.
