Cranbrook Institute of Science

FREE FIRST FRIDAYS every month (5 pm - 10 pm)

Courtesy of the MASCO Corporation Foundation, admission to the Institute of Science is free after 5pm the first Friday of each month through June 2017. Join us for a free evening of science fun! The Café and Observatory are open, and planetarium shows are offered at an additional charge.

Michigan Science Center

Occasional FREE admission days sponsored by Ford

These days do not occur on a regular calendared basis, but will be listed on the Mi-Sci website as they come up. Past dates have included a “back-to-school” day in August, and holidays such as July 4th, Veteran’s Day, MLK Day, etc.

Dossin Great Lakes Museum

FREE ADMISSION every day (Winter hours =  Fri–Sun: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm) (Summer hours = Wed-Sun: 10 am – 4 pm)

Located on Strand Drive on Belle Isle, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum is dedicated to showcasing the story of the Great Lakes, with a special emphasis on Detroit’s role in regional and national maritime history.

Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit

FREE ADMISSION every day for members, students, and children under the age of 12. MOCAD suggests a donation of $5 for adults, but they offer a sliding scale. (Wed, Sat & Sun: 11 am – 5 pm) (Thurs & Fri: 11 am – 8 pm) (Closed Monday & Tuesday)
