Our volunteer staff meets with those in need to discuss emergency situations and look for possible solutions. Generally, we can provide help with emergency food and clothing, prescriptions (on a one-time basis), employment, transportation, and obtaining identification.
We make appointments for the next business day each day when open, either by phone or in person at the door. Contact us for information on scheduling an appointment.
Crossroads is a social service outreach agency with two locations in Detroit. Founded in 1971, Crossroads exists to support the community at large by providing emergency assistance, advocacy, and counseling to anyone in need.
Crossroads Social Services Unit offers counseling and provides clients with material aid such as transportation, food, clothing, and the costs of identification and prescriptions.
Our Summer Lunch Program was created to ensure that children would continue to receive nutritious meals throughout the summer while school is out. Teams from service organizations throughout the metro Detroit area host the Program Monday through Friday for 10 weeks.
Our Parenting Support Program helps parents acquire knowledge, skills and tools to nurture their children, help parents provide a healthy, wholesome, caring environment for their children and family. This Program meets every Tuesday at 11AM and 1PM. Educational and other parenting related topics are discussed. Material assistance provided (clothing, diapers, formula).
Employment Assistance is available at the W. Grand Blvd. location.
Crossroads can help with the cost of a new photo I.D. and medical prescriptions.

Following Memorial Day Weekend Crossroads will be open every Wednesday until 7 p.m. and closed on Saturdays.
Regular hours go back in effect after Labor Day Weekend.
