Coordinated Recruitment & Enrollment

The Coordinated Recruitment and Enrollment Initiative works to ensure full enrollment for all early childhood education programs. The goal of the Coordinated Recruitment and Enrollment Task Force is to assist in coordinating recruitment between agencies serving children newborn through age five in Wayne County. The following forms and processes have been revised for use beginning with the 2012-13 school year:

Home Visitor Alliance

The Great Start Collaborative - Wayne Home Visitor Alliance holds quarterly trainings and meetings to address the needs of Home Visitor professionals in Wayne County.

Great Start Centers

The Great Start Centers is an initiative launched by the Great Start Collaborative - Wayne in 2010. The Great Start Centers is a network of Family Resource Centers in Wayne County that have participated in an endorsement process. This process ensures a consistent level of quality resources at each center throughout the community.

Great Start Wayne County Parent Coalition (GSWCPC)

The Great Start Wayne Parent Coalition (GSWPC) is a group of Wayne County parents and guardians of children pre-birth to twelve years of age. They are dedicated to improving the responsiveness and performance of programs and services that are to support the needs of all children pre-birth through age eight and their families. This group recognizes parent involvement as the key to children's success in school and in life.

Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)

Great Start Collaborative-Wayne (GSC-W) launched the Wayne County Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) Demonstration project for child care improvement in 2009. The project, funded by the Skillman Foundation and Great Start Collaborative - Wayne, began in the Skillman Good Neighborhoods and has since expanded throughout Wayne County.

Wayne Children's Healthcare Access Program (WCHAP)

Wayne Children’s Healthcare Access Program (WCHAP) is a private-public collaborative that was recently awarded a two-year demonstration grant from The Kresge Foundation to improve the quality of care to Wayne County children while simultaneously lowering associated health care costs.
